Analysing Reports

Graph showing course completions and TinCan statements

Community Heart features excellent and detailed reporting. This article explains how the reports work.

Reporting is available from the left-hand menu > Reports. Note that because there is a lot of data involved, this page might sometimes take a few moments to load.

There are two types of reports available: Course Report and Learner Report.

Course Report

The Course Report shows you information about your courses. Use this report to get basic statistics about your course. Note that it only reports on figures from users in your group.

You can filter this report by the groups you manage.

The graph can be adjusted to a time period by using the sliders above the dates.

The report table can be sorted by any of the column headers, and you can export to Excel or CSV.

When you click into a course, you can see specific (generalised) data for this course, eg:

Learner Report

The Learner Report shows you information about your learners. You can use this to examine information about specific learners. Note that it only reports on figures from users in your group.

The report table can be sorted by any of the column headers, and you can export to Excel or CSV.

Click on any learner to see which courses they have engaged with. It will sometimes take a moment to load the figures for the learner into the table.

At a glance you can see where the learner has progressed to, and this might help you assess if they require further assistance – or if your material is difficult at certain points. For example:

There is a left-hand menu:

Click on any item to view it in more detail for that user. Note that “Tin Can” refers to H5P content.

The “Quizzes” section allows you to see the learner’s scores in each attempt of the Quiz, like this:

Click on the “Detailed Report” icon to open an overlay with the individual’s specific responses to the quiz questions:

In the example above, the learner got the first question correct and the second question incorrect. If any hints were used they would be visible in the “Hints used” column.

In the screenshot, we have gone to question 2 and clicked “(view)” which shows the exact option the learner selected.

This detailed and specific reporting allows for Instructors to have conversations with their learners about any areas of concern and to ensure they have achieved the desired level of competence.
