Informed Consent

Informed consent means ensuring clients understand and voluntarily agree to the financial mentoring services they receive. Mentors explain the purpose, scope, options, risks, and benefits, and disclose any conflicts of interest or external referrals. Clients participate freely, can withdraw at any time, and are supported to make decisions with full understanding. Consent is maintained throughout the mentoring process, with discussions and agreements documented as appropriate to ensure transparency, accountability, and trust.
We ensure clients understand the nature and scope of our services and can make informed decisions about their participation.
In practice, this means:
- providing clear information about services, qualifications, and limitations
- explaining the professional relationship and what clients can expect
- obtaining consent before sharing information or acting on behalf of clients; and
- regularly reviewing and updating consent arrangements.
