Change the font size
By default, recent versions of Word use the font Calibri and the font size 11. This is a comfortable size for reading, so if you’re typing a letter or similar, you may not need to change it.
However, if you want to make the font bigger, we can increase the font size.
- Click and drag your mouse to highlight some text.
- On the Home tab, click the number next to the name of the font, to select the font size:
Selecting a font size - As you move your mouse down the list, the selected text changes size so you can preview what it looks like.
- When you’ve found a size that looks nice, click it to select it.
Practice point: Increase and decrease the font size.
Pro tip: When you have your text selected, you can press the keys Ctrl and ] to increase the size of your text, or Ctrl and [ to decrease the size of your text.
