Standard 1: Client Centred Practice

Client-centred practice means putting the client at the heart of every decision and interaction. For a financial mentor, this involves listening deeply, understanding the client’s full situation, and working with them rather than directing them. The client sets the goals, and the mentor provides information, guidance, and support that respects their culture, values, and choices. It’s about building trust, recognising strengths, and helping the client develop confidence and long-term financial capability.
